Meet Aidon

I'm Aidon Hammond, a NSW classroom teacher with more than 11 years of experience in public and independent schools, including leading Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 teams.

I hold Experienced Teacher accreditation, with additional training and qualifications in:

  • Educational leadership
  • Student wellbeing
  • Gifted and talented education
  • Learning interventions
  • Phonics

Tutoring that builds confident learners

I tutor students from Early Learning to Year 7, in person and online. Every program is tailored to the child, whether they need support to catch up or more challenge to stretch them. My lessons are explicit, structured and grounded in evidence-based teaching, with a strong focus on confidence and wellbeing.

Resources made by a classroom teacher

I also write the Lux Mentium resource range, including decodable readers and phonics tools aligned to the NSW syllabus. Each one is built from real classroom and tutoring experience, so it works for teachers, tutors and parents alike.

Why “Lux Mentium”? Lux mentium is Latin for “light of minds”. It reflects the belief behind every lesson and resource: that every child’s mind can be lit up by the right teaching.
